23 states report spending $1.31 billion on winter roadway treatment

Results of an initial Winter Maintenance Operations Survey conducted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) have been released, showing that 23 states spent about $1.131 billion from October 2014 to mid-April 2015 for pre-treating, plowing roads, or spreading chemicals and other materials on roadways to keep them clear and passable through the winter. State Farm to sponsor North Carolina driver-assistance program

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) said State Farm has agreed to sponsor a service that offers free road assistance to drivers in need, the agency said on Monday. The service, which has been known as the Incident Management Assistance Patrol program (IMAP), will be renamed as the NCDOT State Farm Safety Patrol. New communication app for Bay Area first responders released

Dubbed in the iPhone's app store as Responder Incident Report, a new iPhone app was released by the Bay Area Incident Management Task Force (IMTF), a multi-agency organization comprised of representatives from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol, the Federal Highway Administration, local law enforcement and fire departments, county coroners, the American Automobile Association, tow truck companies and others.
