Shuster to lead Pennsylvania Roadshow to highlight infrastructure needs

House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA) will bring business leaders, lawmakers and transportation secretaries from across the country to the Pennsylvania Roadshow Tuesday and Wednesday, highlighting the importance of investing in transportation infrastructure and keeping America competitive.

Shuster will lead a team of members of Congress, including Transportation and Infrastructure Committee members, state officials and transportation secretaries from across the nation for meetings, conferences and events to discuss current infrastructure in Pennsylvania and the rest of the country. The roadshow's goal is to raise awareness for the need of federal-state partnerships and to amp up the nation’s competitiveness.

Shuster’s committee is responsible for legislative oversight and authorization of federal transportation and infrastructure programs. One of the committee’s highest priorities this year is a bill to strengthen highways, bridges, transit infrastructure and highway safety programs.

Participants for the two-day event include Reps. Lou Barletta (R-PA), Scott Perry (R-PA), Ryan Costello (R-PA), Blake Farenthold (R-TX) and David Rouzer (R-NC-07) and the transportation secretaries of Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. Additional officials and business leaders will attend individual events and meetings, including CEOs for several transportation and logistics companies and presidents of transportation committees and public transit companies.
