Bridge engineer Abraham tapped by Kleinfelder

Kleinfelder said Tuesday that bridge engineer Sam Abraham has been appointed as the firm's principal professional.

He will join the firm's Bridge Engineering and Design Services Line. This branch of the international engineering, science consultation and architecture has been involved in numerous bridge projects nationwide.

“By bringing Sam onboard, we have solidified Kleinfelder’s position as one of the strongest bridge engineering and design groups in the United States,” Kleinfelder Project Management Vice President Mark Creveling said. “His expertise in bridge retrofit, replacement and repair will be invaluable as we grow our bridge group to assist in the rehabilitation efforts of the nation’s aging infrastructure.”

In his new role, Abraham will handle program management support and expert guidance with the firm's various projects including the rehabilitation and retrofitting of bridges in need of structural and geotechnical work.

Abraham has approximately 20 years in engineering with specialties in structural and transportation fields. He served as a senior bridge engineer at AECOM, where he was involved with many transportation projects from designing to building. He also has served in project management and delivery positions and has experience with seismic support. He holds a master's degree in structural engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in India.
