Connected vehicle course to be held at the ITS America annual meeting

A connected vehicle training workshop will be introduced May 31 at the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) America’s 25th Annual Meeting and Exposition in Pittsburgh.

The course is modeled after the Connected Vehicle 101 classes the ITS JPO has been offering since 2013. The May 31 workshop, which will take place at the Omni William Penn Hotel, will expand on the ideas introduced in the Connected Vehicle 101 Workshop. It will focus on the future of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure applications.

Other topics covered will include identifying regional and local transportation challenges, developing deployment concepts, integrating connected vehicle projects into ongoing operations, determining what kinds of data to collect and share, and using the Connected Vehicle Reference Implementation Architecture to identify the key interfaces across the connected vehicle environment.

The workshop is a helpful tool for transportation managers, project engineers and operations staff involved in a connected vehicle pilot deployment. Connected vehicle workshops are part of the ITS JPO’s Professional Capacity Building Program.
