Cargomatic names Sean Whiteley COO to help mobile technology transition

Experienced technology executive Sean Whiteley has joined Cargomatic as their chief operating officer, where he will be responsible for operations and sales and marketing, as the company continues its goal of transforming local trucking through mobile technology.

In addition to announcing the hiring of Whiteley, the company announced that co-founder Brett Parker will become president and chief commercial officer, focusing on corporate strategy and enterprise account development.

Cargomatic Co-founder and CEO Jonathan Kessler said that Whiteley’s extensive, hands-on background in technology start-ups will prove invaluable as the company continues its mission to modernize business-to-business logistics.

Previously, Whiteley was chief operating officer of TigerText; vice president of operations for the incubator Slingshot Labs, a division of News Corp.; CEO and co-founder of RealtyTracker, which was acquired by Guthy-Renker; and vice president of operations for Xdrive Technologies, which was acquired by AOL Inc.

Whiteley received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
