Several meetings will be held concerning improvements to the Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel in Baltimore.
The Federal Railroad Administration, Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), Amtrak and the Baltimore City Department of Transportation will be hosting a series of community meetings regarding improvements to the Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel in Baltimore, MDOT said Monday.

The meetings will explore the environmental and engineering study that is being used to inspect a variety of improvements to the tunnel.

The purpose of the outreach and education effort is to integrate the public into the city’s study. This will assist the officials involved in the project to accurately recognize and address the various needs and concerns of the community.

Officials encourage Baltimore residents to go to these meetings in order to learn about the city’s four alternatives that are currently being considered. Attendees will learn about the impacts and benefits of each of the alternatives.

The meetings will be held gin from 6-8 p.m. and will include a formal presentation at 6:30 pm. All of the meetings will have the same information available. The locations of upcoming meetings include the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church on July 14 and Mount Royal Elementary and Middle School on July 16.
