Bombardier Transportation, leading rail technology company, recently announced that it has named Richard Hunter as the company’s new managing director and head of projects for the company’s U.K. branch.

Hunter will assume his new duties on Oct. 1, 2015. He will be located at the Derby base.

With this move, Bombardier reinforces its commitment and focus on creating a sustainable business and strengthening its leadership team in the U.K. This will guarantee the company’s success in its local business.

Noel Travers will fulfill his current role until Hunter assumes his new duties. Then Travers will move into a new role. During 2014, Travers has been the interim managing director at Bombardier’s U.K. branch. His guidance has brought stronger relationships with clients and stakeholders to the company. He has also shown ongoing commitment to the U.K. market, employees and local community.

“There is a great deal of activity in the U.K. market at the present time, including our recent major contract with Transport for London to supply new BOMBADIER AVENTRA trains for Overground and West Anglia Metro services, and I'm delighted to welcome Richard to his new role as U.K. MD,” Per Allmer, president of Bombardier's Western Europe, Middle East and Africa (WMA) region, said. “I also take this opportunity to thank Noel Travers for his dedication to the U.K. market over the past year, the importance of his continued support cannot be understated."
