U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) joined the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee this week.

Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA), chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, welcomed Bost to the committee.

“Congressman Bost’s background in small business and in the state legislature makes him a great addition to the Transportation Committee,” Shuster said. “His various experiences and perspectives as a small-business owner and a manager in his family’s trucking business, as a first-responder, and as a pilot will serve him well and benefit the work the committee does in overseeing the nation’s transportation network and federal emergency-response programs. I welcome him to the committee and look forward to working together.”

Bost  brings a unique perspective to the committee.

“As someone who grew up in and later managed a family trucking business, I am excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the committee,” Bost said. “Under Chairman Shuster’s leadership, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has been an important voice for job creation, economic growth and regulatory reform. I look forward to bringing my firsthand experience to the dais for these important deliberations.”
