MDOT sends out two new RFPs to Michigan universities

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Research Administration said recently that it has sent out two new requests for proposals (RFPs) to Michigan universities.

The colleges should submit proposals on two RFP topics. The first is titled "Bridge Structural Analyses for Staged Construction and Constructability Reviews and Requisition," and the second is titled "Asset Management of Retaining Walls."

Organizations outside of Michigan universities can be part of any research efforts, but a Michigan university must be the primary contractor on any project.

An MDOT scoring panel will evaluate any submitted proposals. If the specific needs of MDOT are not met in state universities' proposals, the RFPs will be submitted to universities nationwide.

MDOT also has sent out other RFPs to seek proposals from universities and consultants from throughout the U.S. One of these is titled "Applying Multi-Beam Sonar for Inspection for Bridge Scour and Performance of Bridge Scour Mitigation Methods," and the other is titled "Updated Analysis of Michigan Traffic Inputs for Pavement ME Design."

All of these proposals and further details are available at MDOT's RFP page online. There is also a PDF on the site that all who submit proposals should read, titled "Consultant/Vendor Selection Guidelines for Research Administration."
