The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) said this week that it has granted E&B Paving a contract to resurface and repair a stretch of U.S. Highway 36 running through Sulphur Springs.

The $276,000 contract includes deep-patching specific pieces of pavement. After this phase is complete, crews will install a new 1.5-inch surface on approximately half a mile of roadway west of SR 3.

In addition, crews will add ADA-compliant curb ramps in Sulphur Springs along U.S. 36.

The project is scheduled to start in May  and be finished sometime in June. The crews’ flaggers will direct drivers around the construction and work sites. Officials will release a schedule of traffic and road restrictions soon.

INDOT has boosted investments recently to upgrade and maintain the state’s bridges and pavements. The goal is to keep these structures in good condition as long as possible.
