FHWA funds roads and bridges damaged in Oregon, Washington

The Federal Highway Administration granted $2 million in emergency relief funds Friday to repair the roads and bridges that were recently damaged by floods in Oregon and Washington. The funds were given to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) as well as the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The roads were damaged due to heavy rainfall. Read More »

U.S. mileage increases for 18th consecutive month

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) said Friday that drivers logged 277.3 billion miles on U.S. roads in August, posting the 18th straight month that mileage has increased. The FHWA released the data in its “Traffic Volume Trends” report for August. The report is a monthly estimate of road travel within the U.S. that was seasonally adjusted. Read More »

Six states acquire FHWA funds to accelerate innovative projects

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recently announced that it has awarded funds to Arizona, Florida, Delaware, Minnesota, Michigan, Rhode Island and New Mexico’s Pueblo of Acoma tribal government to further their innovative projects; the funds, which exceed $6.4 million, are taken from the Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) Demonstration program and will be solely dedicated to improving the mobility, safety and project delivery in the areas.
