Seasonal Nostalgia Train draw large crowds

MTA New York City Transit recently hosted its seasonal Nostalgia Train rides, drawing large crowds who watched the ride and participated in the trips. Boeing makes payment to end enforcement cases

The FAA recently joined Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in a comprehensive settlement agreement that will settle several pending as well as possible enforcement cases. Registration now required for small unmanned aircraft

The FAA recently established a new registration requirement for any unmanned aircraft weighing between 0.55 and 55 pounds. The new registration must be completed online. The new law requires those who purchased an unmanned aircraft before Dec. 21 to register the aircraft by Feb. 19, 2016. Projects, upgrades finished on 55th Street and Sunnyside

Two projects and upgrades were recently completed on East 55th Street in Manhattan and in Sunnyside, Queens. A subterranean ventilation facility is now located underneath East 55th Street. This new construction has slip-resistant surfaces that will help keep people safe. There are also openings measuring a half-inch wide among the cross-bars that will benefit high-heel wearers. FAA releases revised safety rating for Thailand

The Federal Aviation Administration, a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation, released its revised safety rating for the Kingdom of Thailand Tuesday. As of July, Thailand currently doesn't meet the safety standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration recently published updates from the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Registration Task Force Aviation Rulemaking Committee about registration requirements for UAS devices. Airline industry group criticizes plan to divert aviation security funds

Airlines for America, the industry trade organization of U.S. airlines, recently criticized a provision in the highway bill Congress approved that would divert money intended for aviation security to the highway trust fund. Southwest Airlines boosts international service from Houston

Southwest Airlines said Thursday it has developed new services for some of its daily international flights from Houston, Texas, including flights to six new destinations. American Airlines announces September capacity, traffic and load figures

American Airlines Group recently announced the figures from September of this year as well as the results from its year-to-date traffic; the group’s sum revenue passenger miles (RPMs) amounts to 18.1 billion, which is an increase of 7.2 percent when compared to September of last year, and the airline’s sum capacity amounts to 21.9 billion available seat miles (ASMs), which shows a rise of 3.7 percent compared to Sept. 2014. Texas awards $265,000 grant for Alpine-Casparis Municipal Airport

The Texas Transportation Commission, which governs the Texas Department of Transportation, designated approximately $265,000 for improvements at West Texas’ Alpine-Casparis Municipal Airport. 11 US airports receive FAA environmental grants

Eleven airports recently received grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to improve their air quality by decreasing emissions. The funds, which amount to $24.5 million, are part of the Voluntary Airport Low Emission (VALE) as well as the Zero Emissions Airport Vehicle (ZEV) programs of the FAA.
