According to a recent announcement from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the Oregon Transportation Commission has approved the last $6.5 million of ConnectOregon V funds for six different multimodal projects.
This final approval will conclude all activity, as the latest round of multimodal funding is complete.
According to reviews from modal and geographic committees, as well as a final review committee, these projects were among the top ranked.
Among the projects that received funds were Bike Share in the City of Eugene, the Intermodal Facility at Teevin Bros., Heavy Lift Equipment at Sause Bros., Capital Improvement at Sisters Airport, the Rainier Transit Center at Columbia County and the South Salem Transit Center at Salem Area Mass Transit.
One of the goals of ConnectOregon is to concentrate on improving and supporting connections and local economies throughout the state of Oregon, focusing on non-highway projects. The program was first approved in 2005 by the Oregon legislature; since that time, it has provided funding for more than 130 marines and ports, rail projects, aviation centers and public transits in the state of Oregon.
More information about the ConnectOregon program, the process, available applications and other worthwhile information can be found on the main website for ConnectOregon.
