New ARTBA network focuses on improving transportation infrastructure

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) last week launched a new network between business professionals and public officials who share an interest in improving transportation infrastructure.

The Transportation Investment Advocates Council will offer national and regional forums for interested parties to discuss, strategize and research legislation for transportation. It will serve to help record “what works and what doesn’t.”

Membership on the council is free. It includes access to ARTBA’s Transportation Investment Advocacy Center (TIAC), State Transportation Funding Initiatives Report and the ARTBA Newsline email subscriptions. It also includes participation in conference calls and webinars, and the opportunity to attend TIAC’s 2015 National Workshop for State & Local Transportation Advocates to be held on July 15 in Washington D.C.

The council is co-chaired by Maria Fuentes, executive director of the Maine Better Transportation Association; Craig Thompson, executive director of the Wisconsin Transportation Development Association; Juva Barber, executive director of Kentuckians for Better Transportation; Scott Haywood, president of Move Texas Forward; and Seth Millican, director of the Georgia Transportation Alliance.
