The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking public feedback on its draft 10-Year State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) during a Tuesday meeting.
The draft is the first STIP developed under the new Strategic Transportation Investments Law that established the Strategic Mobility Formula. It is one of the department’s most comprehensive programs and includes 1,073 projects across all transportation modes in all 100 counties.
The NCDOT meeting will be in Fayetteville for Paired Division Five, which includes Durham, Franklin, Graham, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren counties, and
Paired Division Six, which includes Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett and Robeson counties. The meeting will be at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Westmont Drive, from 4-7 p.m. The public is invited to stop in, ask questions and provide feedback on the development of the draft STIP.
Specifically, NCDOT wants feedback on the process to develop the STIP ideas for improvement and the variety and geographic diversity of the projects.
Those who cannot attend the meeting can review the materials and submit their comments electronically through MindMixer, an online public engagement tool. The public can also participate in an April 23 webcast information session.
