Bombardier Transportation, a leader in rail technology, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in rail signaling, with more than 27 sites around the world and partners in more than 50 countries.
The company will celebrate with a series of events for employees. The activities will show the worldwide expansion of the rail control business of Bombardier.
Bombardier was established 100 years ago with the inauguration ceremony of Sweden’s Ericsson Railway Technical Department. Since that time, Bombardier’s innovations have been spread through more than 3,600 employees located at 27 sites on six of the seven continents.
Bombardier’s innovations in the signaling industry have immensely impacted rail travel. The company’s inventions will continue to benefit the lives of countless passengers, increasing the efficiency of transporting people and goods throughout the world.
"In looking back on 100 years of Bombardier signaling history, we can take great pride in the game-changing technologies introduced by our highly experienced teams working with our customers,” Peter Cedervall, president of the Rail Control Solutions division, said. “Continuously adapting the latest technology has ensured vast improvements in the safety and speed of rail travel as well as connectivity, automation and capacity. We look forward to shaping the future of signalling, for many years to come."
