Amtrak on Monday announced that it has received recognition for workplace excellence by earning a spot in Forbes magazine’s “America's Best Employers 2015.”
“We want working at Amtrak to be a fulfilling experience where employees find a safe workplace, challenging and rewarding opportunities, enjoy respect among colleagues, competitive pay and benefits and a performance-oriented culture,” Amtrak President and CEO Joe Boardman said. “We recognize and value the contributions of our co-workers and managers want to help our team reach personal and professional goals.”
Amtrak was listed as number 401 on the Forbes list of 500 employers across 25 industries where workers enjoy their jobs enough to tell others about it. Listed under the transportation and logistics category, Amtrak was chosen based upon Forbes’ survey of 20,000 workers throughout the country.
The Forbes recognition is one of several awards naming Amtrak as a great place to build a career. Amtrak has more than 20,000 employees nationwide who operate more than 300 trains every day to more than 500 destinations.
