Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority said on March 31 that Chris Ronayne
was unanimously elected by authority trustees to be the new chairman of the Port of Cleveland Board of Directors.
Ronayne is the president and CEO of University Circle, Inc., a company that supervises the growth, vision, and direction of one of the fastest growing employment districts in Ohio. He has suitable experience for his new role.
Ronayne has led groups of people in development, planning, marketing, educating, policing and similar services for more than a decade. His projects have consistently shown growth.
“I’m truly looking forward to leveraging the economic power of the Port of Cleveland to create more jobs for Cleveland and northeast Ohio,” Ronayne said. “From our international export capacity to our financing capabilities, the Port of Cleveland is a key logistics hub and financing center that can enhance our regional economic development agenda.”
Ronayne is among the new officers the Port of Cleveland has chosen to serve in support jobs.
The Port of Cleveland anticipates that these changes will increase the global competitiveness of the region, which will improve the area’s economic standing.
