Texas DOT turns to Intuicom for streaming data

The Texas Department of Transportation recently picked Intuicom, Inc. to provide a traffic communication system upgrade for the city of Laredo, Texas.

Made in conjunction with Twincrest Technologies, an authorized distributor for Intuicom, the contract award involves network deployment of Intuicom’s suite of wireless Nitro58 radios, which will allow for traffic data monitoring of two of Laredo’s most travelled corridors, including live video streams, by the Laredo Traffic Safety Offices. The centralized monitoring will allow for improved responsiveness and significant cost savings.

The Nitro58 radios operate at speeds of up to 300Mbps with a higher range and output. They include automatic GPS-based geo-location functionality with advanced mapping capabilities and self-organizing network discovery using Intuicom’s BroadbandPro Management Software.

“Maximizing the productivity and effectiveness of an [agency's] manpower has never been more important that it is today,”  Tom Foley, president and CEO of Intuicom, said. “The centralized monitoring and network-wide management functionality found in our BroadbandPro Management Software is the perfect complement to the high [output] capabilities of our Nitro58 Wireless Solutions.”
