Stanley Consultants to study 2 Florida transportation improvement projects

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) selected Stanley Consultants to evaluate the social, cultural, natural and physical environmental impacts of two proposed transportation projects.

Project development and environment (PD&E) studies in District 4 will use the newest Interchange Access Request procedures recently approved by FDOT and the Federal Highway Administration to accelerate project delivery and better serve the community. The District 4 study on I-95 will study interchange improvements of the Northlake Boulevard interchange in Palm Beach County

Project development and environment studies in District 6 is a new pilot study process meant to reduce project delivery time, reduce initial engineering costs and expedite project improvements to better serve the public. The District 6 study will evaluate roadway alternatives at the intersection of SR 90/SW 8th Street and SR 973/SW 87th Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

"Reducing planning and PD&E study time frames is a priority for me on every assignment,” Stanley Consultants Transportation and Traffic Planning Department Manager Bill Evans said. “Now, to be working closely with FDOT as a partner to implement these statewide initiatives and emerging procedures is very exciting and rewarding."

As part of the studies, community outreach and meetings will be conducted to assist the public in understanding the project needs and to gather insights.
