Agility Fuel Systems expands in North Carolina

Agility Fuel Systems, a producer and designer of natural gas fuel delivery and storage systems for buses and heavy duty trucks, recently announced that it will expand into a new production facility in North Carolina.

Production will begin at the 204,000-square-foot facility in Salisbury this year. The strategic location just north of Charlotte places the facility close to heavy duty bus and truck assembly plants. This will enable the company to better meet the increasing demanded for trucks equipped with natural gas.

The facility will be the first of its kind to vertically integrate natural gas fuel system production. This method, the first in its industry, will enable the company to produce the best, high-quality products with cost-efficiency and good lead times.

The new plant will include a number of capabilities, such as improved fabrication, a paint shop, a fuel system assembly, compressed natural gas cylinder production and installation efficiency.

"Our new vertically integrated facility will enable improved logistics, guaranteed cylinder capacity to our customers, the highest standards of quality expected by OEMs, rapid product innovation and speed to market,” Agility's CEO and President Barry Engle said. “Agility's investment in this facility demonstrates our deep commitment to the development and adoption of natural gas as a transportation fuel in the heavy duty vehicle industry.”
