Jayride launches new ride platform in the United States

Jayride, a Sydney, Australia-based transportation booking platform, launched its online service in the United States on Tuesday.

The company has offered Australian travelers a centralized transportation hub on the Web since 2013. Customers who need a ride to the airport, for instance, can log on to Jayride and browse various companies offering everything from shuttle busses to limousines.

Jayride raised $1.5 million from investors in January with the intention of expanding beyond Australia’s shores. With that cash infusion, the company was able to expand its network to work with more than 700 travel agents and 500 transport companies.

The  launch of the U.S. service is just the latest in a string of new market openings. Jayride is also storming into other markets with new sites in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the Philippines.

Jayride CEO and co-founder Rod Bishop said the key to the platform’s success is that it guarantees the best transportation coverage in whatever region it serves.

“We can deliver on this promise like no one else because we have developed processes and technology that are simply the best in the industry,” Bishop said. “So we're very excited to be delivering on this promise now in the U.S. and growing into this new region going forward.”

Jayride is starting out with transport services clustered around 100 airports in the U.S. and plans to expand into other regions as the Web platform grows.
