Parsons Group welcomes Walker as vice president

Parsons Group -- an engineering, construction, technical and professional services industries firm with locations in 29 countries -- this week announced the appointment of Jannet Walker as the company's vice president and deputy eastern sector manager for the company's Rail and Transit Systems Division.

“We are delighted that Jannet has joined our team,” Parsons Group President Todd Wager said. “She is well-respected in the industry and possesses the depth of experience that will assist the corporation in expanding its rail and transit service offerings.”

Walker will be based in Parsons' Jacksonville, Florida, office, where she will be charged with growing Parsons' rail and transit business presence in the eastern United States while at the same time leading overall operations and sector management.

Walker has more than two decades of transportation leadership experience. She has been a program manger and management consultant on projects in both the public and private sectors, and has experience in information technology, strategic operations, organizational strategy, communications, government relations and business development.

She was the deputy program director for Philadelphia International Airport's Capacity Enhancement Program and the deputy chief executive officer and deputy general manager for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.

Walker earned a master's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and also holds a bachelor's degree in management information systems from the University of Memphis.
