Lytx, Inc., said Wednesday that Perfect Transportation, the Indianapolis-based pickup and delivery company, is seeing improved fleet safety results thanks to a partnership with Lytx and its on-board cameras.
Perfect Transportation representatives said the company has seen a 50 percent drop in the severity of risky driving events since starting to use the Lytx DriveCam technology, which allows the head office to monitor and record risky driving behavior.
"We think the DriveCam Program is genius,” Perfect Transportation Chief Operating Officer Amy Lathrop said. "It provides key indicators of who is likely to be involved in a property-damage accident and helps us answer questions such as what is the trigger that will cause a driver to do something risky? When do we take action?"
Perfect Transportation takes those indicators and uses them to coach fleet drivers on safety issues. The technology allows the company to tailor its coaching to each driver’s issues, and the statistics are showing significant improvements.
Risky driving events have been cut in half, and the frequency of coachable events per vehicle has dropped by another 20 percent. Cellphone use has also decreased by 15 percent and there’s been a dramatic improvement in seatbelt use within Perfect Transportation’s fleet.
"Perfect Transportation's utilization of the DriveCam Program exemplifies how to best leverage the comprehensive solution, and it makes us proud to be their driver safety solution provider,"
