The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) recently chose Intergraph and Cambridge Systematics as its integrated, automated routing and permitting solution; choosing Intergraph will improve traveler safety and customer service throughout the roads of Louisiana.
"The automated permitting and routing solution will improve customer
service through quicker turn-around time on OS/OW permits," Tammy
Anderson, transportation permits manager, Louisiana DOTD, said. "Most
important, Intergraph's solution will enable DOTD to provide a safe
highway network for the traveling public through intelligent routing and
real-time restriction management."
The department will substitute its current legacy, in-house developed oversize and overweight (OS/OW) vehicle permitting system for the new Intergraph OS/OW routing and permitting solution. Intergraph enables new capabilities such as real-time restriction management and intelligent routing. Now the department will have a seamless, web-based application, making it easier to issue its OS/OW vehicle programs.
"Intergraph's automated permitting and routing solution improves efficiencies, enabling industry users to receive most permits in less than 10 minutes -- any time, day or night -- without the involvement of a permit agent," Steve Powers, vice president of Intergraph Security, Government and Infrastructure, said. "Our easy-to-use, yet powerful application will help automate processes, creating an intelligent, real-time solution. We're proud to assist Louisiana DOTD in its efforts to provide citizens with a safe and reliable transportation network."
