The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recently simplified its public records requests system with a new online request form that speeds up the process for users and saves paper, postage and time.
Before the new process, users were required to send a form through the mail, wait and then send the finished paperwork directly to ADOT.
ADOT opened the new online public records request process this past week. Filing a request for these forms is a much simpler process with an easy form that can be found at www.azdot.gov/media. This new system enables ADOT to complete and research requests in a timely manner.
Users can find links directly to the form on the ADOT website. There also frequently asked questions, instructions and copying fees. As soon as the request form is finished, users can use a scheduler online to plan an on-site visit to see the documents, to have the copies or even to receive the documents in the mail.
“Our new public records online request form streamlines the way ADOT does business and creates a more efficient process for the public to access information,” ADOT Director John Halikowski said. “This reflects Gov. Ducey’s continued commitment to open government in Arizona.”
