The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recently announced that it will be hosting training for emergency communications -- more specifically for major incidents and accidents involving aircrafts.
The training sessions, which will take place at the NTSB’s Training Center, will instruct aviation public affairs professionals on the best and most effective ways to manage emergency communications. People who are involved in airlines, airports, air charter operators and corporations that have aviation departments are invited to the sessions.
The training will include NTSB specialists who will teach how investigation-related information is confirmed and then released to the family members affected by the accident and the news media.
In addition, there will be members from the national news media at the event. They will explain how they cover accidents in the aviation industry. They will also explain how social media has changed the way that break news is consumed and distributed around the world.
Other aviation communications professionals will offer participants case studies that emphasize the best lessons and practices that they have learned from their years of experience.
The NTSB Training Center, located in Ashburn, Virginia, will hold its training sessions on Oct. 22 and 23, 2015.
Further details are available online, along with a thorough description of the registration information and training.
