The improvement project on Loop 202, or Red Mountain Freeway, in the East Valley recently released an update about the lane closures and restrictions for certain sections of the road.
Officials in the local area encourage drivers to commute using alternate routes until the freeway is operating normally again. Travelers should also plan for extra travel time.
From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sept. 14 to 16, the on and off ramps at Country Club Drive off Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed.
The Westbound Loop 202 will also be closed from Greenfield to McKellips roads starting at 10 p.m. on Sept. 15 and ending at 5 a.m. on Sept. 16. During this time, construction workers will install electronic overhead message board systems to benefit drivers.
The Eastbound Loop 2020 will also be closed between Higley and Gilbert roads from 9 p.m. on Sept. 16 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 17. Road crews will widen the road at this time.
In addition, the Westbound Loop 202 will close from McDowell to Recker roads beginning at 9 p.m. on Sept. 17 and ending at 5 a.m. on Sept. 18.
The Eastbound Loop 202 will also be closed from Country Club Drive to Loop 101 from 10 p.m. on Sept. 18 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 21.
