The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT MVD) recently earned an award for expanding its driver's license services to authorized third-party businesses throughout the state.
The department received the award at the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators International Conference. In addition, the MVD received recognition through a Customer Convenience Award because the division provided its customers with more options to attain identification cards or driver's licenses. The division accomplished this through expanded numbers of
authorized third-party businesses
that were allowed to provide these credentials.
As of today, there are 19
authorized third-party businesses
throughout Arizona that are allowed to provide driver's license services as well as registration and title services. ADOT’s ultimate goal is to add 23
authorized third-party businesses
by January 2016.
“One of MVD’s goals is to give communities across Arizona more access to our services,” Juan Beltran, the third-party program administrator, said. “Earlier this year, we rolled out a phased expansion program, and have added three to four businesses in each phase to expand the number of third-party businesses that offer driver's licenses and identification cards.”
