The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recently began to improve London Bridge Road in Lake Havasu City, the second out of five other improvement projects in Mohave County.

The goal of the project is to widen the road, from Retail Centre Boulevard to Chenoweth Drive.

Officials have warned drivers that they should add extra time to their commutes due to brief delays during daylight hours in the work zone. Delays should last no longer than 15 minutes, and crews will assign flaggers to help manage traffic.

There will need to be intermittent lane closures on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. When there are closures, the speed limit will be decreased significantly. Drivers are encouraged to remain aware of construction equipment, as well as workers.

The project, estimated at $843,000, is expected to continue until spring. Officials with Mohave County said the project should be finished by May. All of these scheduled timelines are contingent on weather conditions.

Upcoming improvements include adding shoulder rumble strips and striping the lanes on Diamond Bar Road. The work will take place from Pierce Ferry Road to Stockton Hill Road.
