The American Road & Transportation Builders Association's (ARTBA) Transportation Development Foundation recognize transportation organizations that have created outstanding strategic philanthropic programs to improve communities through its Helping Hand Awards.

The awards honor “organizations within the transportation industry that have exceptional strategic philanthropic programs that strengthen, build, improve the quality of life and make a positive difference in their communities.”

Programs eligible for the award include, but are not limited to, those that provide humanitarian and environmental relief, encourage literacy among youths or provide transportation-escort services for seniors.

Those who want to submit nominations can do so at www.artbatdf.org by March 18. Winners will be announced at the 2016 ARTBA Federal Issues Program May 9-11 in Washington, D.C.

For over 30 years, ARTBA has supported a variety of initiatives that are designed to encourage education, research and public awareness. These include awards, scholarships, roadway work-zone safety programs, executive education seminars, training programs and special economic reports, among other efforts.
