The American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) awarded five professionals in the trucking industry with the Silver Spark Plug -- its highest honor -- this week during the 2016 TMC Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville.
“Each year, TMC recognizes professional excellence in our industry with the Silver Spark Plug,” Carl Kirk, ATA's vice president of maintenance, information technology & logistics and TMC's executive director, said. “These five individuals represent the pinnacle of our field, and we are proud to have them as members of TMC and to honor them with this award.”
The award recipients are Duane Lippincott, senior project manager at United Parcel Service in Georgia; Curtis Cummings, maintenance support adviser at FedEx Freight in Arkansas; Randy Tumbarello, maintenance director for Trimac Transportation in California; Richard Winters, fleet manager at Verizon Fleet Solutions in Pennsylvania; and Alex Moultanovsky, vice president of Automative Climate Control in Indiana.
“The Silver Spark Plug is only given to individuals who represent the best of our council in their commitment to improved engineering and maintenance standards through the development of TMC recommended practices,” TMC General Chairman Kevin Tomlinson, director of maintenance at South Shore Transportation in Sandusky, Ohio, said. “I congratulate all these winners for their achievement and commitment.”
