Idaho Transportation Department projects to extend the lives of four of north-central Idaho’s bridges begins Monday.
The work on the John Day Creek Bridge on U.S. 95, Big Bear Creek Bridge on Idaho 3, Palouse River Bridge on Idaho 6 and Goff Bridge on U.S. 95 aims to ensure that bridge deterioration doesn't affect mobility on U.S. 95, Idaho 3 and Idaho 6.
The projects carry a combined price tag of $625,000 and will be carried out by crews with C.L. Heilman Co. of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
As weather allows, work will be done on the John Day Creek and Big Bear Creek bridges April 4-May 16, the Palouse River Bridge May 12-24 and the Goff (Timezone) Bridge May 25-June 10.
The projects are part of 27 transportation infrastructure projects green-lighted last year by the Idaho Transportation Board and funded by the state through Idaho’s first transportation-revenue hike in close to 20 years.
The other 23 projects involve maintenance and repair work on roads and bridges throughout the state.
Progress on the projects can be followed online at itd.idaho.gov or by following ITD on Twitter (@IdahoITD) or Facebook. Travel condition updates are available at 511.idaho.gov or by calling 5-1-1.
