The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recently scheduled the permanent final striping on a portion of Esperanza Boulevard, between Abrego and La Canada Drives, in Green Valley, south of Tucson, between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday this week.

Crews will have flaggers in place to direct the flow of traffic daily, and Pima County crews also will install new signs on this stretch.

The striping is part of a larger project that built multi-use lanes on the road to allow for more room for bicycles. The crews also upgraded the sidewalks so that they would meet Americans With Disabilities Act standards. These new sidewalks are now on both sides of the road.

ADOT officials encourage drivers to travel cautiously through the construction zone. They should slow down and be aware of personnel and equipment at the site.
