CALSTART recently announced that two executives from the clean transportation industry have been chosen to be part of CALSTART’s board of directors.

These two new members will offer strategic direction and advice as CALSTART begins to develop the clean transportation industry in California and across the U.S.

Donna DeMartina has served as the general manager and CEO at the San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) since 2001. She assisted the San Joaquin RTD in being the first to use zero emission transit buses within the San Joaquin Valley. She is also the chair of the executive committee of the California Transit Association.

Dr. Jeffrey Reed serves Southern California Gas Company as Director of Business Strategy and Technology Advancement. He is the leader of development and business strategies as well as initiatives that seek to support the creation and use of sustainable energy solutions.

“Ms. DeMartino and Dr. Reed bring new and important perspectives to the Board and add valuable insights from their successful experience leading change in the clean transportation sector,” George Survant, senior director of fleet services for Time Warner Cable and CALSTART’s board chair, said. “Donna offers significant transit expertise and is a pioneer in the electric bus sector, and Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the use of both fossil and renewable natural gas as a transportation fuel. These two new members will help drive our efforts to develop and promote more fuel-efficient technologies and encourage public transit.”
