Officials from the Division of Transit and Rail (DTR), a branch under the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), recently requested public input on how to improve the distribution of federal funds for transit projects.

CDOT recently removed several regulations and rules in its system pertaining to distribution of federal funds, declaring them outdated.

CDOT then formed the State Management Plan for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to streamline the entire distribution process to improve transparency with fund disbursement.

“As part of the federal requirement to develop a State Management Plan on funding management and distribution, we decided to incorporate all of our FTA and FASTER funding policies into this single document,”DTR Director Mark Imhoff said. “As part of eliminating the rules, we committed to a more formal process, including public comment.”

The public-comment period on funding disbursement runs through Feb. 26. You can email comments to Rob Andresen-Tenace at [email protected] or call him at 303-757-9766.
