Dassault Systemes said Wednesday that Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Aeros has selected

Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform to be used in the production of the Aerocraft, Aeros’ flagship cargo airship.

Dassault Systemes
specifically designed its

“Engineered to Fly” platform to be utilized by the aviation industry. The platform will be used to manage multiple aspects of the production and development of a fleet of cargo airships.

“We chose a solution to integrate globally dispersed engineering teams and one that allows us to add capabilities as we grow,” Aeros CEO Igor Pasternak said. “The ‘Engineered to Fly’ industry solution experience is the obvious choice to help us manage complexity and very large scale systems in our airships. The solution also offers the scalability to meet our needs into the future as we focus on lowering costs and minimizing risk.”

Dassault Systemes said the platform allows companies to take part in detailed design work that also incorporates systems relating to fluid, mechanical and electrical and ensuring they are valid. It will also provide a means to determine whether the design will fit the company’s limitation in manufacturing.

Aeros intends to have a fleet of rigid variable buoyancy airships ranging from 66 to 250 tons.
