Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

WHEN: 6:00 a.m. on August 19, 2019 until 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2019, pending weather.

WHERE: Hay Road (Bridge over Shellpot Creek) between East 12th Street and Locke Road, Wilmington.

WHAT: DelDOT’s announces to motorists the closure of Hay Road to complete the work for the bridge replacement project. The finished project will provide for two-way traffic and will be a two-span concrete girder bridge on piles. Additional work has included the removal of the adjacent abandoned steel truss bridge, placement of riprap for erosion, reconstruction of the roadway approach roadway, and the installation of guardrail.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
