The Detroit Regional Chamber has called on Gov. Rick Snyder and the state Legislature to develop a solution to fund the state’s infrastructure needs by releasing a list of principles on Tuesday.
This announcement follows the failure of Proposal 1, which would have generated more transportation funding through a fuel tax increase and other tax hikes. Michigan voters rejected the measure by 80 percent.

In detailing this list, the chamber’s website said transportation funding needs to come from users of the system, which the failed Proposal 1 did include. Prior to the ballot-measure vote, the chamber urged people to vote in favor of Proposal 1.
