The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), which is a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation, was included in a list of the Best Places to Work within the federal government Dec. 8.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the FHWA has been listed in the ranking, which is released by the Partnership for Public Services each year.

“Exceptional public service is on display every day at the U.S. Department of Transportation, and this survey reaffirms that,” Anthony Foxx, the U.S. Transportation secretary, said. “The men and women of the FHWA have earned this important recognition through their professionalism, innovation and persistence. They work hard every day to provide better and safer roads and bridges for their fellow Americans.”

The FHWA was within the top 5 percent of the companies listed in the ranking, which was conducted from April to June of this year; 430,000 federal workers participated in the survey.

“All our employees know firsthand that the work we do has a real impact on people’s daily lives,” Gregory Nadeau, the Federal Highway administrator, said. “Keeping the public safe is our top priority, and that simple goal is what makes working at FHWA so worthwhile. The enthusiasm of our employees makes the agency an ideal workplace.”
