The Bureau of Transportation (BTS), a division of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), recently released updates on its airline employment webpage to show the full-time and part-time employment data from Aug. 2015; the report contains figures for total employment, which includes both full-time as well as part-time employees, with all U.S. airlines, whether they are charter, passenger or cargo airlines.
For August, all full-time and part-time employees at all U.S. airlines amounted to 606,298. This is a significant increase compared to the figure for Aug. 2014, which stands at 588,185. The number for July 2015 is only slightly below Aug. 2015, with employment rates at 606,574.
The BTS airline employment web page has further details about each airline and its numbers. The page offers full-time as well as part-time employment figures according to the carrier and the month. Data is available beginning in 1990 and ending in Aug. 2015.
The next scheduled web update for data concerning full-time as well as part-time employment will be Nov. 16, 2015.
