Construction contractors with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) scheduled traffic restrictions Wednesday through Sunday on Interstates 65 and 70 north in order to repair damage that was recently caused by a car accident.

The ramp for westbound I-70 and the southbound I-65 lanes were closed, and traffic was diverted to the Exit 83A ramp for Michigan Street/Ohio Street/Fletcher Avenue in order to enable drivers to continue their travels using westbound I-70 or southbound I-65.

The ramp for Exit 83A was closed on the left lane; in addition, the right lane to Michigan Street, Ohio Street and Fletcher Avenue remained open for traffic.

These restrictions were repeated each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Friday. At 9 p.m. on Friday, the closures continued until Sunday morning to give the new concrete time to cure. Further restrictions and closures will occur next week.

INDOT requests that drivers be cautious and careful as they travel through detours and construction zones.
