Gov. Pat McCrory introduced new customer service improvements Monday that will be added to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) in 2016.
These improvements, which will be made at the office level, are expected to decrease wait times, especially for new identification cards and driver’s licenses. It will also take less time to update online features, which can be found at the portal for the DMV.
“North Carolina continues to be one of the fastest growing states in the nation,” Gov. McCrory said. “These improvements will not only make doing business with DMV more convenient and easier today, it will prepare us to efficiently handle the growth that is coming our way.”
There will be new self-service kiosks located in 10 driver’s license offices based in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Asheville, Fayetteville and Cary, offering customers online services through simple touch screen access.
“NCDMV is making all DMV functions faster and much easier for citizens,” Kelly J. Thomas, state Motor Vehicles Commissioner, said. “Gov. McCrory is focused on making more DMV services available online and decreasing wait times in offices. We are ‘driving change’ at DMV.”
