Indiana transportation officials plan to hold a public hearing Thursday and next week to discuss a proposed infrastructure project on Interstate 69 in Hamilton and Madison counties in the Indianapolis area.

The hearings will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Public Library,111 E 12th St in Anderson, and at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Noblesville City Hall, 15 S. 10th St.

The purpose of the public hearings is to gather public feedback on the proposed project.

The $85-million project is designed to improve and widen a 15-mile section of Interstate 69 in both counties. The improvements are part of the Major Moves 2020 program in Indiana.

The proposal from Milestone Contracts, LP and United Consulting Engineers, Inc. outlines a plan to include a new travel lane between Exit 205 (State Road 37) and Exit 219 (State Road 38). They also intend to add a new southbound lane that would stretch from the 106th Street exit ramp to the 116th Street entrance ramp.

The project requires changing the Campus Parkway interchange at Exit 210 into a new, diverging-diamond design that will decrease congestion. This portion of the project involves replacing the Brooks School Road Bridge and renovating the Campus Parkway bridge.
