The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Hamilton County and Fishers County recently announced that there will be a public hearing to discuss the new Interstate 69 interchange that will be located at 106th Street.
The oval-shaped roundabout interchange, which is receiving funding from INDOT and the two counties, would consist of two lanes. It would cost an estimated $34 million to create the new interchange; the three collaborators have contributed approximately $12 million toward the project’s final sum.
The public hearing includes a presentation of the proposed plans for the interchange and construction projects. There will also be an opportunity to discuss these plans with the public. Tentative construction schedules, preliminary designs, and proposed maintenance of traffic plans also will be available for the public to see and discuss.
As part of the project, the bridge that crosses I-69 would be removed and replaced by two separate bridges. Each bridge
would
have one direction of traffic to carry. The north side bridge, which
would
transport westbound traffic,
would
also have space for non-vehicular traffic.
All comments from the public, which will be collected during the hearing, whether verbal or written, will be considered and reviewed by INDOT.
The hearing will be held at Fishers City Hall Auditorium Thursday at 6 pm.
