The Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commission (MRPC) will discuss marketing for the Drive the Great River Road event in September at its next meeting Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. at the Lyons Branch Library, 105 Main Ave., in Clinton, Iowa.

The commission also will make a lunchtime presentation to the Clinton Rotary Club during its daylong meeting.

The commission will hold an Iowa Corridor Management Plan implementation workshop with breakout groups to discuss priorities and set up action plans.

As a multistate organization, the MRPC’s goal is to promote, preserve and heighten the Mississippi River and its historic, scenic and recreational value, as well as encourage the corridor and its economic growth while it develops into a scenic, national, and historic parkway, the Great River Road.
Iowa and its MRPC members are dedicated to achieving the mission objectives that are also outlined for the Iowa Great River Road, the National Scenic Byway and the Mississippi River Valley in Iowa.
