Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., recently announced it has received a contract from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that provides for it to offer consulting services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The six-year, Indefinite Deliverable/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement requires that Jacobs provide general engineering consultant (GEC) services for the area’s public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Jacobs will provide these services through concession, design-build and additional methods of delivery.

Jacobs —

one of the largest and most diverse technical, construction and professional services in the world — provides a wide range of owner verification testing, design, construction oversight and planning. Jacobs has provided support for North Texas’ TxDOT GEC since 2004. The company managed, developed and executed the plan for the Interstate 635 (LBJ Freeway) Express Managed Lanes Project and is currently the GEC for the North Tarrant Express Segment 3A, the DFW Connector, and the State Highway 183 Midtown Express Managed Lanes projects.

“Using lessons learned from our Dallas-Fort Worth area PPP experience, we look forward to leveraging our skills and experience in partnership with TxDOT to enhance the region’s connectivity and mobility over the next six years,” Jacobs Group

vice president

Randy Pierce said.
