Meeting to discuss I-275 road project in Michigan

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently announced it will hold a public meeting on Nov. 10 regarding a pavement replacement and bridge repair project on 13-mile section of I-275 in Oakland and Wayne counties.

The open house meeting will provide an overview of the project will affect the cities of Livonia, Novi and Farmington Hills.

The project will involve replacing concrete pavement from the interchange of I-96/I-696/M-5 to north of Five Mile Road. This stretch of road includes the ramps for “mile” roads as well as the interchange of I-96/I-696/M-5.

In addition, work crews will complete repairs for 16 bridges, install intelligent transportation systems, improve drainage, finish shoulder work on I-275 and repair concrete on I-696.

The

$70 million to $80 million

project is scheduled to begin in spring and end in fall 2016.

MDOT staff, interested stakeholders and project consultants will be at the meeting to be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Davenport University, 19499 Victor Parkway, Livonia.

Anyone interested in the project is welcome to attend the meeting. This is an opportunity to learn more about the details of the project.
