The new Metro Light Rail started its operations on May 23 and now offers high-quality transit for residents; the route will connect East Downtown (EaDo) to Downtown, the Texas Medical Center and the University of Houston-Downtown, as well as several other locations in the city.

Both the rail and bus schedules and routes are online at the Ride Metro’s website.

Thanks to the new transportation option, it is more convenient than ever to visit local shops, enjoy urban life and see concerts in the Houston area. Local businesses and venues anticipate the growth in the local economy thanks to the new line.

One of the new places for passengers to visit is AHH, Coffee, a community coffee shop, also recently opened. It provides coffee and drinks to customers throughout the day. The rapidly growing area is an easy distance from the new City View Terrance residential development.

Another option for early Metro riders was the Fire Annual Barnstorm Dance Fest at the Barn. Hosted by the Dance Source Performing Arts Space based in EaDo. This event has already ended (it ran from May 28 to June 13), but similar events are to be scheduled in the future for all dance enthusiasts.

Explore even more downtown activities at Trees for Houston, the Thiem Hung Baker and others.
