The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will begin a new road project in Glenwood, Minnesota in 2018.

In preparation for the new road work, MnDOT as well as SEH, Inc. crews will be conducting preliminary survey work near Highway 104, Highway 29, and Highway 28. This work will be done over the next several months before the project begins.

The survey work is just the start of the new 2018 project for Glenwood. The purpose of the project is to reconstruct a section of downtown, which amounts to a six block portion of the area. The project will also resurface several state highways located throughout Glenwood. In addition, crews will improve accessibility across the region.

MnDOT officials have encouraged local business owners as well as residents to submit their email addresses in order to receive updates about the project. The sign up is available on the new project website. This will help to keep the community informed about the status of the project.

This project as well as many others guarantees that the transportation and infrastructure system throughout Minnesota will adequately provide for local residents and travelers for many more years. Infrastructure and transportation are crucial to the local economy as well as the national economy.
